Nomad City Directory-Canary Islands 🇪🇸
Island life is always a good idea. Let's go surfing🏄♂️?
Hello fellow nomads,
This week’s issue featuring the Canary Islands 🇪🇸 . Island vibes, really love it. Back in time, I lived in Hawaii for some time. I mean it was the best time of my life. Ocean, surf, sun, beach, many outdoor activities such as hiking, chill vibes, and like-minded people all around.
I have never been to the Canary Islands in Spain but lately, Tenerife is on my target. It has been a rising remote work hub since the pandemic as European nomads couldn’t travel to South East Asia. Hope I will make it to the Canary Islands soon. Wanna check its island vibes and surfing. Nomad community seems thriving there.

Canary Islands Nomad Directory
Nomad life cost: 1750 EUR min. monthly budget for a decent life
This will depend on which island you are going in the Canary Islands but I made my research according to Tenerife standards. Calculation based on monthly rent around 600-1000 EUR for 1br apartment, studio, or private room. You mostly cook at home. Weekends dining out.

Internet speed: Average 25 Mbps
In the center of the islands, which is good enough for Zoom calls, e-mail, Netflix, surfing. Rural areas might be lower speed.
If your stay equipped with fiber optic internet, it might be around 100 Mbps.
Safety: Very safe
Very safe and peaceful cities in the Canary Islands.
Weather: Mild, and sunny winters with between 15-20°C daytime. It is mostly sunny in wintertime, you can even go to the beach and get into the water like springtime. Summer is hot, some days exceeds 30°C. Beach vibes!
I have been told by one Spanish local that the peak season is wintertime in the Canary Islands. The summer season is lower. This was really interesting to hear.
Nomad Community: Very vibrant and active every season. Outdoor activities, yoga camps, coliving retreats, coworking spaces are good spots to meet like-minded remote workers in the islands. You can also join the Tenerife Digital Nomads group on Facebook to meet new nomads.
COVID Restrictions: As of 28 February 2021, you can visit the Canary Islands provided you travel from the European Union with a PCR test taken 72 hours prior to arrival in the Canary Islands with a negative result. Check this official site for more info.
Coworking spaces: Most popular ones in Tenerife: Tenerife Coworking, Coworking Anaga, Nine Coworking
When I was living in the Hawaii islands, locals always told me below and they were damn right:
Stay on the island, mainland is a foolish 🤠
If you like sun, surfing, beach, and outdoor activities while working remotely, the Canary Islands might be a perfect fit for you.
